Citizens of a once great nation,
We are not unlike our forefathers who created a nation that is a vision of hope for mankind. They fought to break the bonds of tyranny, taxation without representation, injustice, and countless threats to their liberty. Freedom to them was a value worth dying for and self-determination an overwhelming drive. Little did they know the miracle that they would create or the monstrous threat that now seeks to destroy their delicate, exquisite masterpiece.
If you don’t think tyranny has raised its ugly head once again try not paying your unreasonable tax burden, speak your mind in a public forum, sit in front of an arrogant congressional committee, ask your doctor for an alternative therapy, home school your children, question the actions of the government, or the greatest sin of all put the Ten Commandments in a public venue. Bit by bit our freedom is being drained from our lives.
Elected officials do not represent you or your community. They serve their political party, most often blindly, with little regard for the impact on you. This is most definitely taxation without representation.
An attempt to shape all men in a singular, government defined, mold is the false dream of fools. For it is infinite individuality that gives rise to greatness. Man’s unfettered spirit is the magic that leads to creativity, innovation, solutions, and a lifestyle other nations envy. Governments that regulate, direct, restrict, subordinate, condemn, ignore, and devalue individual action destroy themselves from within. No foreign enemy is as great a threat as a nation’s own government.
The colonists were a tough breed who would not bow before an unjust king because they had an unyielding love for liberty and respect of freedom. In the end they presented us a gift and prayed that we would be worthy of it. Sadly, we failed. We allowed the evil of socialism to creep into our lives. We elect politicians whose only qualifications are that they are glib, good looking, or seasoned career orators who say nothing with great aplomb. They are inept, dishonest, and owned by special interest groups. Shame on all of us for caring so little for the gift our progenitors created and died to protect. Neglect has opened the door to the wolves.
If we do not unite and stand shoulder to shoulder to reclaim our founding father’s inspired handiwork now, our children
will never know the beauty of liberty, the promise of individual effort, or the satisfaction of a life that reaches its potential.
