Taxation without representation means far more than having a vote for a candidate. When the candidates from both major parties fail to represent the views of the people this is “taxation without representation.” This past presidential election is a graphic demonstration of the growing feeling of many Americans that they had a choice of bad and worse. Do you want a 60% socialist or a 90% socialist? Do you want someone who blindly serves the Democrat or Republican party with little concern about you or your family?
The list of taxes that Americans pay each year is an abomination. For those who believe that capitalists are greedy take a close look at the government. Unbridled greed, waste, no risk, and sheep willingly allowing themselves to be sheared with little complaint are the ingredients of a socialist society where you serve the state and the state decides whether you live or die. Far fetched? In 1948 a family with median income and two children paid a total of 2% in state, federal, and social security taxes. By 1999 it had grown to 50%. At what point are you employed by the state?
The income tax began in 1913 as an amendment to the Constitutional legally ratified by fewer than the required 36 states. Theft is theft.
"The power to tax involves the power to destroy.”
Chief Justice John Marshall
